2008 School Dragon Boat Program

Each Spring, the Burnaby Canoe and Kayak Club puts on the very fun and exciting School Dragon Boat program. The program is designed to introduce students in grades 6 - 12 to the team sport of Dragon Boat in a fun and safe environment. Highlights of the 2008 program include:

• lessons will run during May 2008
• there will be a steering lesson for teachers on May 3rd
• each group will receive 3 lessons of 45 minutes
• the program ends with a regatta on Sunday June 1, 2008
• the cost is $5/student

Note: registration deadline is April 1, 2008. The earlier you register, the better chance you'll get your preferred timeslot!

Attention Teachers:
Once your class is registered, there are two more steps.

Step 1: Insurance form

• Every single student, teacher or parent who is going to get into the boat must complete an insurance form.
• These forms must be completed before anyone can get in the boat. There will be no exceptions.
• These forms may not be submitted by email as they require the parent or guardian's signature
• The form can be downloaded here and are due by May 3rd, 2008.
• Teachers: please bring the completed insurance form for all participants to the steering clinic on May 3rd, 2008.

Step 2: Registering for the Regatta

The program ends with a regatta on June 1, 2008. For your class to participate in the regatta, you must complete the regatta registration form before May 23, 2008. These forms can be submitted by email.
