High Performance Youth Sprint Programs

Registration for Spring Break Camps are now open!

The Beginner Canoe/Kayak Racing program provides an introduction to the sport of canoe and kayak. BCKC wants to promote this unique sport, which is fun and develops strength, endurance and balance in a natural outdoor environment. This entry-level program is geared to introduce participants to the sport and the equipment. BCKC provides the participants with stable boats, with the opportunity to advance to more challenging boats when they are ready. This program encourages water safety, skill development, care and maintenance of the equipment, a team atmosphere and an all around good time. The youth will be taught this Olympic sport by a nationally certified coach.

The athletes involved with this program have the opportunity to race for BCKC in various regattas in the the Lower Mainland, Nanaimo, Kamloops and Washington State.

Not sure if this program is for you? Try the Pacific Cup training session starting in August 2020.

Suitable for: Boys and Girls 8-19 years



Beginners/Recreational: None (CanoeKids or Pacific Cup program or similar is preferred). 

Intermediate: By invitation from the coaching staff.

High Performance: By invitation from the coaching staff.



Annual membership fee + Sprint training program fee = Total fees.

All participants must purchase the annual (junior) membership and training program fees separately. Fees will be pro-rated during the season.

For 2019 and 2020, Junior Membership fees and Sprint Training fees are separate (membership is required to join any junior sprint program).

Beginner and Recreational program (Tues/Thurs 6-7:30 pm, Sat 11 am - 12:30 pm)

Intermediate Sprint training program (Tues/Thurs 4-6 pm, Sat 9 am - Noon)

High Performance Sprint training program (Mon-Sat, schedule determined by coaching staff)


2020 Summer training programs July 1 - September 12. 

Beginner and Recreational program (Tues/Thurs 3:30 - 5:00 pm, Sat. 11:30 am - 1:00 pm)

Intermediate Sprint training program (Mon/Wed/Fri 3:30 - 6:00 pm, Sat. 9:00 - 11:30 am)

High Performance Sprint training program (Mon-Fri 10:00 am - 3:00 pm, Sat. 9:00 - 11:30 am)


2019 - 2020 Fall and Winter programs October 1, 2019 - March 15, 2020.
