Canoe Kayak BC Divisional Championships Bring BC’s Best Paddlers to Burnaby Lake

Burnaby Lake and the Burnaby Canoe & Kayak Club (BCKC) are getting ready to welcome some of British Columbia’s top sprint canoe and kayak athletes for the 2026 Canoe Kayak BC Divisional Championships, taking place July 4 and 5.
BCKC has been selected as the host club and Burnaby Lake as the host facility for this exciting provincial championship. The event will bring paddlers from across BC together to compete for the opportunity to qualify for the Canoe Kayak Canada National Championships, taking place in Ottawa at the end of August.
With athletes competing across a range of sprint canoe and kayak events, the weekend promises to showcase some of the province’s best paddling talent right here on the waters of Burnaby Lake.
Hosting a championship of this calibre is a great opportunity for BCKC and the Burnaby community to showcase Burnaby Lake as a premier paddling venue and support athletes on their pathway toward national competition.
A special thank you to Canoe Kayak BC for their support of the event and to the City of Burnaby for supporting the championships through the Sport Hosting Grant. Their support helps make it possible to bring high-level sport and competition to Burnaby.
